About us

SMCT is an education success story empowering children with the necessary tools and needed to achieve personal success and create change at a societal level. We attempt to create ecosystem in which the underprivileged have the chance to seize control of their lives. We do this through holistic development approach geared towards inclusion, using tools such as classroom learning, personality development, counseling, extra-curricular activities, financial support, healthcare etc.

Our Story

How Prayas was founded?

The ‘Siddharth Memorial charitable Trust (Regd.)’ was formed on 29^th of July,2009 with the mission to make a positive difference in the lives of the underprivileged children, so as to help them recognize their self-worth and talents by instilling in them basic life skills, to build individuals who learn to cope with their disabilities/misfortunes to become confident, competent and caring individuals. To fulfill the aims & objectives, the Trust initiated, a program called ‘Ek Prayas’ on 13^th of Feburary, 2010. The objective of this program is to fund and sponsor the education of children above class-Vth from the academic session 2010-11, who are risk of discontinuing their studies due to very impoverished circumstances. The goal of this program is to prevent the dropouts by orphans or financially backward children.

Our Approach

We Facilitate Safe Learning Spaces

This project helps the orphans and underprivileged children to continue their studies with the support of their sponsoring donors. In addition to getting financial assistance to pay the school fees, Admission fee, buy books & Stationery, clothes, shoes, educational material and private tuition, in this program children are benefited from more individual attention at our Tuition Centre. We do this through holistic development approach geared towards inclusion, using tools such as classroom learning, personality development, counselling, extra-curricular activities, financial support, healthcare etc. Our work now touches the lives of more than 100 students. These students will continue to get the sponsorship from ‘Ek Prayas’ until they complete their education as long as they continue to perform well and meet the eligibility criteria.

It is our Endeavour that while we impart quality education, we focus on all round development of the student through series of activities. We believe that when the students complete their education, each student should be confident in themselves and know that through dedication, hard work and perseverance, they are capable of achieving anything they aspire to.

Acheivements

We believe that children from less privileged communities deserve a high quality education. Our sponsored students exceeds all expectations, with one of our student Km. Sandhya scoring 96.8% marks in CBSE XII Class Examination, 2020.
